KEUKEN

Food is one of the most important aspects of our project. We think of food as the first lesson of sharing with each other, so the kitchen is our heart and the dining room our soul! We see the dining tables as a platform to meet, eat, share, and face each other!

We invite people from different nations and cultural backgrounds into the kitchen to cook, share their traditional recipes, give workshops, and tell us stories. Our world kitchen has produced Vietnamese, Indian, Indonesian, Persian, Syrian, Moroccan, Latvian, Polish, Spanish, local dishes, to name a few. Our food is colorful, joyful and sometimes surprising!

Our “Common Kitchen” hosts many people to prepare and cook food together. Our “Common Kitchen” is not a restaurant. We are not professionals but we are passionate. Our kitchen coordinator takes care of planning budget, time and quantities. For every cook who joins the adventure, there are many helping hands and a little reward! You wanna cook your grandma’s recipes? Very welcome! Join the kitchen crew by filling in our volunteering form.

Besides the public opening hours, there are many possibilities to use the kitchen. If you have any ideas, private celebrations, or meetings, please send us a message via the contact page.

GEEF&NEEM WINKEL

The livelihood of our little shop adds a lot to the social objective of Tankstation. It promotes exchanging, sharing, and recycling without any money involved. If you have some clothes, books, pots, pans, plants, or anything that you no longer need, bring them over so that they find a new owner. If you find something useful for you, take it home and enjoy! Some give, some take, and some do both! It’s all about the balance!

To keep our Give & Take shop inviting and useful for everyone, we happily welcome your clean clothes, shoes, and bags, as well as books, DVDs, CDs, kitchen items (like pans, cutlery, plates, bowls, and mugs), creative materials, lamps, jewelry, and other small treasures that someone else might enjoy. We are unable to accept large furniture, extremely worn or dirty clothing, or broken items. Thank you for helping us maintain a friendly place to give, take, and share!

If you have any questions about the Give & Take shop, contact us via the contact page.

TUIN

We are very lucky that our current location has a big garden where our community can connect with a myriad of non-human beings. Whether they are bushes, trees, vegetables, insects, birds, or flowers, our crew is learning how to protect life together and bring stuff from the soil to our plates! We have a dedicated pace for wildlife and pollinators, raised beds for vegetables and herbs, and of course: a terrace among fruit trees to truly experience Dutch’s unpredictable weather! We like to be busy under the sun, rain, wind, you name it! If you’re interested in doing gardening with us, please fill in our volunteering form. Do you have ideas about events that could be hosted in our garden? Then please send us a message via the contact page.

CURSUSSEN

Offering workshops is Tankstation’s way of diffusing useful knowledge and inspiring creativity in our community. Our space allows us to host different workshops, including improv theatre, cooking, yoga, music, dance, crafts, and art. Anybody can apply to host a workshop, as long as you have something valuable to share with the community! If you have any proposal for a new workshop, please send us a message via the contact page.

TENTOONSTELLINGEN

Our aim is to create a space where artists from all backgrounds can share their unique perspectives and creative visions with our community. We hope to prevent diverse works to the widest possible audience to encourage dialogue, exchange and exposure.

We’re currently adapting our exhibition spaces to the new location. We’re also eager to find up and coming curators that want to take on the challenge of turning a massive greenhouse and garden into potential exhibition spaces. Does this sound like a challenge for you? Please send us a message via the contact page.

PODIUM

Tankstation’s stage is a vibrant hub where people come together to savor a rich tapestry of performances, encompassing music, comedy, spoken word poetry, enlightening lectures, and engaging workshops.

Among our recurring gems have been the beloved Open Mic Nights, a delight every last Tuesday of the month, and the magnetic Jam Sessions, which used to appear every third Thursday of the month.

At Tankstation, we take immense pride in our role as a global stage. Over the years, we’ve had the privilege of hosting a diverse array of artists from every corner of the globe. Our current location is currently not able to host live concerts, however, our stage coordinator is busy establishing collaborations with other music venues in our surroundings. If you have an idea for a collaboration, or you are a band or musician in search for a place, please contact stage@tankstationenschede.nl
